4. Euro
Euro came into existence on 1 January 1999, and derived its name from its native land Europe. The Euro is the universally accepted currency for 17 member states of the European Union which form the eurozone. The term Euro was proposed by a team of scholars in a contest in 1996 in Spain.
5. Dinar
The term Dinar is the transliteration of the Arabic word Dīnār. It was borrowed from the Syriac dīnarā which was earlier modified from Latin dēnārius. Dinar is the currency unit used of most of the Middle East countries, including Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, and Tunisia.
6. Rouble
Rouble, also spelled as ruble, is the monetary unit of Russia. The name Rouble came from the Russian word ‘Rubit’ which meant ‘to chop or cut’ as the casting involved cutting it as one-fourth part of a silver rod weighing 1 grivna.
