7. Jean-Baptiste Lully Conducted Way Too Hard
Jean-Baptiste Lully was composer known to the world in the 17th century.
He was busy directing a performance in 1687 of “Te Deum”. He got so into the music that he accidentally leads to crushing his own foot with a conducting baton. This injury gave him an abscess on his foot that caught an infection. He did not want to kill his chance to dance in the future and hence refused to get his foot amputated. His body was living out the plot of Footloose and his mind wasn’t having it. Which is funny because his foot was loose in the sense that it turned gangrenous and killed him.
“Funny” probably is not the right word to use for this one.
