Now: Well, declaring it on social media is the first thing people do these days. Relationships are getting complicated, while open relationships and friends with benefits are holding a firm grip. One’s relationship is not official unless it gets declared on Facebook.
8. The way people set milestones
Then: Back then, people used to celebrate anniversaries which was a yearly phenomenon.
Now: People celebrate monthsaries which isn’t even an official word. So 15-year-olds saying “Happy 18th, love!” isn’t absurd anymore.
9. The way of breaking up
Then: Back then, breaking up was difficult and generally happened face to face.
Now: It’s just a few text messages on messenger or WhatsApp or on a phone call if the relationship is a bit healthy followed by getting blocked on social media apps.
