7.Hurricane Andrew (1993)

Hurricane Andrew was formed by a tropical wave that moved to the west coast of Africa on August 14, 1992. It became a major tropical depression by August 16, during the succeeding days, it developed into a destructive tropical cyclone. It caused massive destruction that caused 65 fatalities and $26 billion in property damages, it is the 5th most costliest hurricane in US.

8.Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami (2011)

This earthquake hit Japan on March 11, 2011.Within two weeks of the disaster, the Japanese government’s official count of deaths had exceeded 10,000; more than one and a half times that number were still listed as missing and presumed dead. By then it was evident that the earthquake and tsunami constituted one of the deadliest natural disasters in Japanese history.

9.East Africa Famine(2011)

Considered the biggest drought in 60 years, the Horn of Africa experienced a severe drought since mid July of 2011 with an estimated 12.4 million people in need of food. It resulted in a food crisis across Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Djibouti, threatened the livelihood of more than 9.5 million people, and caused widespread death and famine.
