Cyber attacks are nothing new these days. And most of the times we don’t even know that our computer is being hacked. So get smarter with these signs and let your hacker know you are no amateur.
1. The antivirus in your system is switched off.
This is among the obvious signs. And switching off the antivirus would let them get to your files easily. So if you haven’t turned off the antivirus but still find its off, you are being hacked.
2. Passwords don’t apply.
Again this will be one of the first signs you get. Obviously, that’s what the hackers hacking your computer for, passwords. So they won’t keep them the same.
3. Suddenly your number of friends increases.
This constitutes the easiest signs to understand. You see anything unusual in your social media accounts or see someone’s status on your feed whom you don’t remember adding, your computer is most likely hacked.
4. New icons pop up in the dashboard.
Now that’s weird, right? You may go ahead and delete them but that won’t change the fact that your computer is infiltrated with some dangerous code.
5. The cursor moves here and there without you touching the mouse.
Never ignore even the slightest signs. You know you are hacked if your cursor slides on its free will and highlights things.
6. Your printer doesn’t work the way it should.
Your printer just doesn’t seem to obey your commands. It refuses to print what you had asked for or prints something entirely different.
7. You are suddenly forwarded to websites.
This error might also happen while searching on Google. Instead of showing the search results, it directs you to another useless page.
8. Suspicious removal of your files.
If you see any file or your project deleted suddenly, be sure your computer is being hacked.
9. Your personal data is put on the internet, but not by you.
This can be a really problematical area. If it happens, remove all your data from the computer.
10. Abnormal anti-virus warnings.
You already know that it is not normal to see anti-virus signs. Which also adds to the abnormality is that your computer is installed with an antivirus which you do not know about.
11. The webcam indicator keeps on blinking.
If this happens try rebooting your computer and check if it continues blinking in about 10 minutes. If it does, your computer is in trouble.
12. Computer gets very slow.
This is pretty obvious. If your computer takes the longest of time to do the simplest of work or your internet connection is unbelievably slow, then it is surely hacked.
