This society has given beauty a typical face, somebody who is fair skinned, with a lean body. Isn’t that how we see beauty? Well, there are some people who think that this is complete BS. I totally agree with them, you see the problem with the majority of us is that we refuse to acknowledge other forms of beauty. So one Romanian photographer decided to travel across 60 countries to capture beauty in its true essence.
Michaela Noroc has been traveling for over four years and has been photographing various women and collecting their story. This project is called Atlas of Beauty.
She traveled to 60 countries to photograph various woman so that people change the way they see beauty!
1. Kathmandu Nepal.
This young woman was celebrating Holi when Michaela met her.
Friendship transcends all religious boundaries. This young woman is a Muslim, and her best friend who lives next door is a Christian.
3. Baku, Azerbaijan.
Women living here are still not allowed to click pictures without the permission of their husbands. Fidan is one of these amazing women who would never start a relationship if she wouldn’t be treated equally and respected.
4. Tehran, Iran.
Masha is a graphic designer, and she is proud of the fact that she has been financially independent since she turned 18.
5. Amazon Rainforest.
This lovely young woman was sitting in her wedding dress.
6. Wakhan Corridor, Afghanistan.
She was working in the fields of one of the most remote places in the world.
7. Chichicastenango, Guatemala.
Maria was selling vegetables in a nearby market when she was photographed.
8. Indomeni Refugee camp, Greece.
This mother with her two daughters fled the war in Syria.
9. Bucharest. Romania.
Magda experienced a terrible car accident in 2005, as a passenger. People in wheelchairs are still isolated by authorities in various parts of the world. The reason being poor infrastructure which makes going out of home almost a mission for them. But Magda wants to change the way people in wheelchairs are treated, at least in her country, through some amazing initiatives.

Thorunn was born and brought up in Iceland. And she brings Icelandic women together through an online community.
11. Korolyov, Russia.
Nastya is a photographer who takes passport photos in her small shop. She dreams of traveling the world someday to take landscape photos.
12. Havana Cuba.
An actress? A model? No, she wishes only to finish her studies and become a nurse.
