11. Mariner 1

This is probably the most tiniest of all mistakes made that changed the course of history. In 1961 NASA launched America’s first inter-planetary probe Mariner 1 with Venus as it’s destination. But a single typo ruined it all, it was a over bar which caused the spacecraft to veer off its course. NASA had to denote the probe after 5 minutes of its take off, and is assumed to be lost!

12. Martian Myths

Percival Lowell (this man!) thought it to be canals and his speculation led us to believe that life exists in Mars!
