Movies are all about entertainment, fun, love, fights and romance, adventure, Sci-Fi thrillers and many other genres. Actors and actresses are the most important part of the movie (obviously). Here, we are to talk about the ones that need an adventure or most particularly which need stunts including the movies which have a lot of VFX and all another fancy stuff that the audience like me are interested in. Basically, it means all the super hard things or probably the impossible things. Movies like Iron Man, Jurassic Park, Fast and Furious etc. have a lot of stunts and VFX in them and you also might know this that our dear actors aren’t that talented that they can act and do all this crazy stuff altogether. So, stunt doubles are used who have perfection in this and they are selected on the basis of the actors they are gonna enact. An illusion is created with a touch of a little bit of technology and that guy’s face is replaced with the lead actor’s and everything in the movie goes fine without anyone getting hurt.
So, here are some of the actors and their stunts double who will shatter illusion you had from years:
1. Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Jacob Tomuri was the stunt double for Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road, Legend, and The Revenant. According to Tom Hardy, Tomuri learned his lines and did some acting during Legend. He also revealed that one of their fight scenes was real!
2. Reese Witherspoon in Hot Pursuit.
The woman behind the action was actually Marny Eng, a Canadian stuntwoman who has performed stunts in over 100 movies!
3. Alexander Skarsgård in Tarzan.
Alexander Skarsgård’s dreamy stuntman, Mark Slaughter, has also performed stunts in movies like Skyfall and Captain America: The First Avenger. When he isn’t swinging through the jungle, he is a regular stuntman on Game of Thrones.
4. Finn Jones in Iron Fist.
While Finn Jones does do a lot of the fighting on Iron Fist, he still has a stunt double, David Armstrong, for the more dangerous stuff. “He is an incredible martial artist, an incredible human being,” said Jones of Armstrong.
5. Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones movies.
Harrison Ford’s stunt double, Vic Armstrong, is considered the most prolific stuntman in the world! Being the stunts man in that movie proves this fact itself.
6. Karen Gillan in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
The former star of Doctor Who needs not one but two stunts double for her role in the upcoming Jumanji reboot. We’re looking forward to seeing this illusion asap.
7. Dwayne Johnson in Faster.
The man responsible for making almost all of Dwayne Johnson’s stunts look awesome is actually his cousin, Tanoai Reed. Dwayne being a wrestler also needs someone with the same body like him too, another problem from Tanoai Reed. For once you can’t even differentiate between them and fall for the illusion.
8. Grant Gustin in The Flash.
Being a Flash fan myself Cody Laudan is my favorite stunts double. When Laudan isn’t performing the stunts for The Flash, he appears in movies like 300 and Man of Steel.
9. Jared Padalecki in Supernatural.
Mike Carpenter has been performing the stunts for Jared Padalecki’s character on Supernatural since its first season. No matter why it ran 12 seasons and 13th currently live!
10. Scott Glenn in Daredevil and The Defenders.
While Scott Glenn has done some of his own stunts, he owes a debt to Justin Eaton, who has been taking a beating on his behalf for years. Eaton will soon be the stunts double for another member of the MCU in The Punisher.
11. Gal Gadot in Keeping Up with the Joneses.
Wonder Woman was an amazing movie we all agree to that, don’t we? Alicia Vela-Bailey has done stunts for the Gal Gadot in three different movies but even Wonder Woman needs a little help sometimes.
12. Johnny Depp and Theo Kypri as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Theo Kypri was the one whom you saw swinging from Black Pearl to other ships. A little editing and Theo Kypri gets changed to Johnny Depp aka Captain Jack Sparrow.
13. Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
Thor is one of our favorite characters from the MCU and especially The Avengers. Bobby Holland Hanton was the one to rotate the hammer and kick the asses of villains.
These stunt doubles are the ones who you see doing the best stunts and not your ideal actors, these should be respected and made popular as well.
