The shop used to bustle with customers from the 1940’s until the 1960’s when the sudden illness of the great-grandmother of Oktober75 had resulted in the abrupt closing of the shop. The store never made to its re-opening again. The family members seemed far more engrossed in other pursuits.
The shoe business went downhill from then only to resurface once again with a value better than ever before. Oktober75 says that his grandparents had a habit of hoarding stuff. He guesses that they went with the mentality, ‘it will be worth something one day’.
The one day seemed to have arrived!
It seems a few years ago, a production company for vintage costumes and clothing came by the shop and bought a couple of hundred pairs from Oktober75’s grandparents.
