Becoming parents is obviously one of the best feelings in the world but with it comes to its pros and cons. It’s not an easy task to do, your whole life changes. You have more responsibilities; you have to take care of your kid, your body changes.
There’s a blog named ‘Dad and Buried’ and the owner of the blog Mike Julianelle has recently started an amusing trend of sharing pictures of themselves. The trend has people post side-by-side pictures before and after they became parents to show how their kids ‘ruined’ them.
Mike is a dad to a 7-year-old and nearly-2-year-old kids and he has been sharing his before and after pictures of becoming a parent for a quite some time now. After he uploaded his pictures of-of ‘Before and After Parenthood,’ others quickly followed. “Obviously, it’s meant to be lighthearted, and no one is seriously blaming their children for the state of their faces or lives,” he said. “Except for me when I seriously blame my kids for the state of my face and my life, which is basically all I do on my blog and Facebook page and Twitter,” Mike joked.
According to Mike the main motive of uploading and following this trend is let people know that it’s okay and to be, to be honest about the pitfalls of parenthood. “There’s no shame in admitting that for all the peaks, there are plenty of pits. Kids are the worst best thing that’s ever happened to us and if we don’t laugh about the havoc they wreak we’d have to cry instead and I’m not a crier.”
