Superheroes or Superheroines have a special place in our hearts. Though we know they did not exist, still, they sometimes have helped us in getting over our bad times. And it is the reason why some of us are so attached to these characters that it hurts when we read/see any of these comic heroes dying. However, we know they would return back eventually, but still, for the time being, it does cause a state of “NO WAY MAN!”. If you are one among those crazy as* comic fans, you’d surely enjoy reading these biggest superhero deaths.
1. The Hulk
Hulk had a noble, but a sad death. He actually committed suicide with the help of Hawkeye. He was shot dead by a purple arrow while he was being investigated with other superheroes about the Gamma rays experiment. Hulk provided the arrow to Hawkeye and instructed him when to shoot. And as we know well, Hawkeye doesn’t miss!
Scott Lang (Ant-Man) was given the Ant-Man suit by Stark International. He went on to fight with the Avengers and died in a battle with Jack of Hearts. They blew up together.
3. War Machine.
James Rhodes (War Machine) was killed in a battle that involved many Superheroes trying their luck against the mighty Thanos. He punched him so hard, that the War Machine armor couldn’t bear it and it ended up killing him. Well, now this has made me more excited to see Thanos in the Avengers: Infinity War.
4. The Flash
One of the biggest superhero deaths involves the demise of Barry Allen (The Flash). He had a battle with Anti-Monitor, holding a gun that has the caliber to destroy the multiple Earths in DC universe. The Flash disintegrated as he ran so fast in an attempt to destroy the weapon.
5. Captain America
Steve Rogers (Captain America) met his fate in a 2007-2008 comic edition “The Death Of Captain America” by Marvel. Red Skull assassinated him. Before his death, Steve wrote a letter to Tony and asked him to continue the legacy of Captain America. However, Bucky Barnes wields the shield after his death and becomes the new Captain America.
Jason Todd (Robin) was not so popular amongst the comic book fan-world. Even his death was requested by the DC fans. The readers voted for his death and he died by 70 votes. Joker killed him. What’s even more interesting though, is Batman’s struggle with the guilt over his death. Why do you care now, Bruce?
Peter Parker (Spiderman) was killed by Doc Ock. This villain literally became the Spiderman by controlling his mind and body. However, Doc Ock killed Peter Parker, but continues to be the Spiderman. Weird, right?
In the Final Crisis, the fans witnessed one of the biggest superhero deaths of all time. Bruce Wayne (Batman) was fried to death by Lord of Apokolips, Darkseid.
Logan (Wolverine) dies in the 2014 edition “The Death Of Wolverine” by Marvel. The story explains that Logan doesn’t have his healing powers now. In an attempt to defeat the villain, Dr Cornelius, Wolverine gets himself covered with Adamantium. He died as it hardened around him.
Colossus is a member of the X-Men. He sacrificed his life in order to provide a cure for Legacy Virus. The same virus which was responsible for his sister’s death.
Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) is the cousin of the mighty Superman who is again from Krypton. Anti-Monitor killed her. He was attempting to destroy the multiple Earths and hit Supergirl with so much of raw energy, that her body couldn’t bear it and she died.
DC introduced a whole new comic book series to tell the tale of the biggest superhero deaths. “The Death Of Superman” released in 1992. In this edition, Superman fought the crazy Doomsday. They cause massive destruction and eventually, beats one another to death.
