Before Dr. James Russell could see the full extent of the problem, a hygienist had to blast away the tartar and remove it with a scalar.
He was then taken to have a CT Scan. In the CT Scan, it was revealed that Jay would need to lose as much as 11 of his teeth. Luckily, even though the teeth had rotten completely, the gums were healthy enough for him to receive dental implants.
All the 11 teeth were replaced with screw implants. One of the screws was around 18 millimeters long.
