The lake was built for dumping power plant ash.
It has become a popular destination because of its turquoise water color.
It may look absolutely serene and beautiful but’s it’s not safe. The water of this lake is toxic and highly polluted.
The company that runs the power plant has confirmed that they pump ash in the lake.
The power plant company has put a warning about swimming in it and has also explained the cause of its aqua color.
The excessive hue and vivid aqua color is due to metal oxides and calcium.
The officials have said that the water may not be very deadly but it is more alkaline and it can lead to allergic reactions.
