Life can get a little chaotic sometimes. You have noticed that lately, your home is getting a little out of order. You’re thinking that maybe, you need to get a handle on things before your house spirals out of control. It is easy to let things get out of hand, and it’s often assumed that it’s hard to get things under control. With New Year just coming you need to organize your house as well as closet more than ever.
So, let’s get you some clever ways to organize your closet and make your house look better:
1. Kitchen command center.
Keep your kitchen tidy and organized by creating a command center. You can do this at very little cost, too. Raid your local dollar store to find wire magazine racks, buckets, and anything else you think will be handy. Make your command center magnetic by purchasing a large piece of sheet metal. Tack up your sheet metal, glue magnets on the back of your dollar store finds, and start organizing!
2. Create non-slip hangers.
Some of my clothes have a tendency of falling or say slipping off my hanger, no matter how properly I hang them or whatever I do to keep them steady. Non-slip hangers are expensive, and I always cut off the little loops on my shirts. Add a little squiggle of hot glue down the side of your hanger to create a non-slip grip, and never return home to find your wardrobe on your closet floor again!
3. Hidden storage books.
There is stuff that I use every day that I don’t want to put away. But when I have company over, it makes my home look a little cluttered. A little bit of hard work and there it is, you Hidden Storage Books!
4. This is Great!
I believe that I’m not the only one who has a screwed up mathematics considering measurements. Every time I’m to use a tablespoon or some liters I’m always confused. So, paint the inside of your cupboard with chalkboard paint and attach a thin piece of trim. On that trim, screw in some hooks to hold your measuring cups. On your chalkboard, you can write all the measurement conversions for no more confusion then.
5. Silicone cup holders.
The cup holders in your car are a nightmare to clean, but you can’t avoid a Starbucks coffee just for the sake of that. So, just put the small silicone cupcake holders in them and change them regularly and problem solved.
6. Crayon organizer.
Paint recycled fruit tins and then attach them to a piece of wood using screws or an industrial strength glue. This would act as crayon holders for your kids.
7. Garage storage container.
Find an old metal filing cabinet — but you won’t be storing files in there. Toss out the drawers and flip the filing cabinet on its back, and you now have a multi-use storage container. This container is perfect for your garage. It is a great container for brooms, rakes, and shovels.
8. Organize with shopping bags.
Sometimes those little boutique shopping bags are just too beautiful to toss in the trash. You almost feel bad throwing the bag out. Re-purpose them into a household organizational item. Hanging the bag on a cork board, or even right to your wall will help to declutter a desk or dresser.
9. Egg carton organizer.
Use an old egg carton to keep your drawers organized. Don’t just toss an ugly egg carton in your drawer, though. Get out some paint and embellishments and decorate your egg carton. You can store stationary in that and it would be more organized than ever.
10. Family toothbrush holder.
Not only is this clever, it is sanitary. Store your toothbrushes in your bathroom drawer and keep them organized by using a cutlery holder.
11. The crap bucket.
Putting a crap bucket at the base of the stairs will really help to keep things organized. Putting things away won’t seem like such a workout. If you have multiple family members in the home, make sure everyone has their own crap bucket, husbands included! Then, everyone can help out and be responsible for putting their own belongings away.
12. File sorter for linen storage.
Office supplies can be used for so much more than paper and pens! Keep your washcloths organized by using a file sorter.
