6. Sugar
Sugar can serve as an exfoliator and moisturizer for your skin. It removes rough and dead skin cells and makes your skin smooth and clean.
a) Mix equal amounts of sugar and olive oil to make a thick paste.
b) Apply this paste on your dark knees and elbows and rub it around using circular motions for 5 minutes.
c) Wash it off with a mild soap and warm water.
Do this once daily until you get the better results.
7. Yogurt
Yogurt contains lactic acid that helps lighten and moisturizes the skin. Yogurt is also very effective among all home remedies.
a) Take a mixture of equal amounts of sugar and olive oil and make a thick paste.
b) Apply the paste on your dark knees and elbows and rub it in circular motions for 5 minutes.
c) Wash it off with warm water.
d) Do this once daily until you see your knees and elbows lighten.
8. Mint Leaves
Mint has natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It has essential oils which aid in the synthesis of white blood cells which lighten skin by clearing scars and dark spots.
a) Boil hot water and add mint leaves into it.
b) Allow it to boil for few minutes and add some fresh lemon juice.
c) Get the mixture off the flame and allow it to cool to a skin tolerable temperature
d) Soak a cotton ball with this solution and dab it on the elbows
d) Leave it on the skin for about 15 minutes
e) Rinse off with warm water
Do this every day to see a better result.
