RIP Sulabha Deshpande!
It is a sad day for the Indian Film Industry. Sulabha Deshpande, one of the finest actors,of Indian cinema, passed away today at her Mumbai residence, owing to her prolonged illness. The 79-year-old actress acted in over 73 mainstream films.
She was part of both Hindi and Marathi film industry. She was also a director and also did television shows, to her credit! Married to Late Mr. Arvind Deshpande, sulabha and her spouse found the Awishkar theatre group, along with Chandrashala, the children’s wing.Professional children’s theatre is performed there till date! She gave so much to the Indian film industry, it’s indeed a big loss to us. But, let us remember the good old memories of hers, that will continue to stay with us and will rule our hearts.
Her most memorable role was that of “aaji/ Mrs Godbole” in English Vinglish; the Sridevi starrer, in hindi cinema.
And as far as marathi cinema is concerned, she was the queen bee there. She had many hits under her belt, only to name a few; Haapus, Vihir,Chaukat Raja etc.
On television, she is best remembered for her role in Mrs Tendulkar, the 2011 show, that aired on SabTV. The Indian film Industry will regret the loss of a legendary actor. She will be missed.
We’ve already lost Razak Khan, another legend this week, and now Sulabha.. we do not wish to lose any more gems of our film industry.
You will be in hearts forever. Rest In Peace 🙂
